The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, said on Tuesday that Russia is engaged in a new accumulation of troops along certain sectors on the front line and still launches attacks on Ukrainian targets, Reuters reports.

“Now we see another accumulation of Russian troops in certain sectors of the front. He refuses to be forced to make peace,” Zelenski said in his evening message, referring to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian leader has not provided other details, but claims that “Russia continues to launch attacks. We will answer.”

He said that the Russian forces targeted Ukraine with over 150 drones during the previous night, over 50 in the morning and a few other “tens” this evening.

The new drone attacks, said the President of Ukraine, represents “an accompaniment of Russian statements in China”, an allusion to Vladimir Putin's visit to Beijing, where he went for a regional security summite and discussions with his Chinese counterpart and other officials.

“Yesterday, the Russians actually denied what Trump said about the meeting of the leaders needed to put an end to the war. In China, Putin continues to deceive stories as if they were not guilty for the war,” added President Zelenski.

Volodimir Zelenski holds the call of US President Donald Trump for a summit between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, as a step towards the end of the war unleashed in February 2022. The Russian part claims that an adequate agenda has not been established for such a meeting.

Donald Trump, “very disappointed” by Vladimir Putin

On Tuesday, Donald Trump said he is “very disappointed” by Vladimir Putin, because a peace agreement with Ukraine was not reached after the summit of the United States and Russia in Alaska.

“I am very disappointed by President Putin, I can say that,” Trump said in the radio show “Scott Jennings”, asked if he felt betrayed by the reaction of the Russian leader. “I had a very good relationship, but I am very disappointed,” said the American leader, quoted by AFP.

The US president also mentioned that he is not “worried” at the relationship between Russia and China.
