US President Donald Trump said he thinks he “saves” Ukraine and does a “big favor” to this country, writes Sky News on Tuesday.
In an interview with The Atlantic magazine, published on Monday, the American leader said he helps this country.
“I think I save this nation. I think this nation will be crushed in a very short time. It is a huge war machine. Let's recognize,” said the leader of the White House for the publication, Jeffrey Goldberg, who last month revealed that high American officials discussed the US Agreement.
Trump added: “The Prime Minister of Norway, a highly respected man, says that if President Trump would not have been involved, this war would never have been over. I think they do a great service to Ukraine. I think that.”
Asked if Putin can do something that would cause him to say that the Trump administration is on the side of Ukrainian leader Volodimir Zelenski, the Republican President replied: “Not necessarily on the side of Zelenski, but on Ukraine, yes. But not necessarily on Zelenski. I had a difficult time with Zelenski.”
Reflecting on the famous dispute in the Oval Office, in which Trump and his vice-president, JD Vance, had a heated discussion with Zelenski in front of the whole world, the American leader said: “All he had to do (Zelenski, no) was to shut up, you know? He made his point of view.”
“But instead of saying” ok “when we made the statement-I said,” Well, we work to solve the problem. We try to help. “He said,” No, no, we need security, “Trump said.
President Trump continued saying that Zelenski had the right to defend his country, but that he had to “resolved the war”.
“We will have to see what will happen in the next period, about a week. We are in the final phase,” the White House leader added.
