The president of the Federation of Education Trade Unions “Spiru Haret”, Marius Nistor, told Antena 3 that “protest actions will continue” in the education system “as long as these measures remain and as long as we have this minister” of Education, Daniel David.
The trade union leader spoke about the following protest actions.
“At the moment we are preparing for the protest actions, which will continue by picketing the headquarters of the Government and the Ministry of Education, starting tomorrow, until 5, and on September 8 (…), following the referendum we triggered among our colleagues, union members, we do not want to participate. We celebrate, we have no time for festivals.
He also commented on the intervention of today's Minister of Education, who announced that he will ask school principals to inform parents if there are protest forms that affect the first day of the school year.
“The Prime Minister of Education – and maybe is the only one – who accepted the increase of the teaching norm, the growth of the students in the classroom, the combinations of school units, so that the political criteria have become more and more important in the functioning of the pre -university education, and today it transmits, through that message, that the directors, which must be affected by the measures To say firmly that the school begins that the minister wants this? ”Said Marius Nistor.
The trade unionist claims that “the students are dissatisfied, the parents are unhappy, the students are dissatisfied.”
“I recommend to the mayors and not only, we recommend the political class, on September 8, to be kept away from school. If they want to prove respect for the teacher,” added Nistor.
What follows after September 8
The president of the Federation of Education Trade Unions “Spiru Haret” argues that “the protest actions will continue” if the current Minister of Education “will not resign or not be dismissed”, and “the measures will not be repealed”.
“If nothing will happen after the actions that will be triggered on September 8, there is a new consultation among our colleagues regarding new protest actions that start from September 9. Because we say it, we do not stop here, we cannot stop here, as long as we do not have this minister, be repealed, protest actions will continue, ”said Marius Nistor.
