A large fire broke out on Tuesday evening at a warehouse in Sector 2 of the Capital, for its extinguishing intervening dozens of fire trucks. The fire caused great smoke releases, which was carried by the wind in almost the entire capital. Due to the dense smoke and the drowning smell, the people of Bucharest were warned by several red messages.

Specifically, according to the authorities, the fire occurred at a storage hall on the Hobița alley no. 6, sector 2, in the area of ​​the Antefrig warehouse located near the Pantelimon road.

“There are a series of warehouses that have been operating for a long time. We know that the meat warehouse burns at the moment, first of all, with a risk of extension to the Water Deposit,” the mayor of Sector 2, Rareș Hopincă, informed in a TV station.

Due to large smoke releases, four RO-Allert messages were issued for warning the population in sectors 2, 3, 4 and 5, the locals being advised to stay in houses and close the windows.

The toxic smoke cloud was felt in several neighborhoods in Bucharest, with many inhabitants claiming on social networks the pollution in their area.

The intervention of the ISU Bucharest-Ilfov firefighters is also at this time in progress.
