He confessed to the murder of Andriy Parubija. He is the father of a missing soldier

The information made available by the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office shows that the alleged killer was 52 years old and came from Lviv. His son, serving in the armed forces of Ukraine, was lost in 2023 in the Bachmut region. Desperate father tried to find information about his fate by searching Russian social networks. As a result of these actions, he made contact with Russia's undetermined representatives who were to assure him that his son was killed.

According to the information obtained by Ukrainian media, the man accused of murder was to be a victim of blackmail from Russian special services. In exchange for information about his son's burial place, he was to make an act of violence against one of the Ukrainian politicians. “The Russians, using their father's tragedy, told him that they would give their son's body in exchange for killing any known Ukrainian politician,” said the newspaper “Wysoki Zipper”, citing their sources.
Long preparations for the murder
According to Lviv Radio, the accused revealed his place of residence in Lviv and informed the Russians of Parubian, whom he allegedly seen in the city. Then he began preparations for committing a crime – he bought a weapon, a bike and a helmet. Using false documents, he also purchased a car that he planned to follow the politician.

Andrij Parubij, a politician known for his activities during the revolution of dignity and former chairman of the Supreme Council of Ukraine in 2016-2019, died on August 30 in Lviv. The 54-year-old was shot in front of his house in the morning. Eight shots were fired towards Parubija.
