Turkey's first lady, Emine Erdogan, wrote to the wife of the US President, who urged her to contact the Israeli Prime Minister and raise the problem of children in Gaza, authorities in Ankara said on Saturday.
Emine Erdogan wrote that she was inspired by the letter sent by Melania Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin, this month, regarding children in Ukraine and Russia.
“We still have a chance for the over one million children in Gaza”
“I am confident that the sensitivity you have shown about the 648 Ukrainian children will be extended on the gase. These days, when the world lives a collective awakening and the recognition of Palestine has become a global will, I believe that your call on behalf of Gaza would fulfill a historical responsibility to the Palestinian people.”
The first lady of Turkey also says, in the letter to Melania Trump, that “not just the children in Ukraine has ended the joy”:
“The children in Palestine have the right to the same joy, the same freedom, the same worthy future.
I share the feelings expressed in your letter, as a mother, as a woman, as a man, and I hope that your hope will flourish for the children in Gaza, who long for peace and tranquility.
It is too late for the 18,885 babies and children from Gaza I lost, like Hind Receb, killed with 335 bullets, and Rim, 3 years old, to whom the grandfather kissed his smiling eyes before giving his last breath.
But we still have a chance for the more than one million children in Gaza who have managed to survive. The moment has arrived. “
The war in Gaza broke out on October 7, 2023, when Hamas killed 1,200 people in southern Israel and took about 250 hostages, according to Israeli data.
In response, Israel has launched a large offensive that led to at least 62,192 deaths in Gaza, mostly civilians, according to the data of the Ministry of Health of Gaza, considered by the UN.
The Defense Minister of Israel threatens that the city of Gaza will be completely destroyed: “The gates of hell will open”
