Most Siberians supported schoolchildren to use AI

The idea of ​​teaching children of school age to competent and ethical use of artificial intelligence was supported by 71 % of Russians, follows from the All -Russian survey*conducted by VTB. According to the participants in the study, the use of AI in the educational process helps to form modern competencies among schoolchildren: digital literacy, the ability to analyze and generalize information, as well as such qualities as responsibility for the result and critical thinking.

The Siberians positively appreciated the use of AI schoolchildren. Answering questions, 75 % of the residents of the SF noted the need to use technology at school. At the same time, AI must first of all release teachers from routine tasks (46 %), in second place in popularity – assistance to schoolchildren in finding information. Participants (52 %) positively evaluate the use of AI in preparing homework, while 21 % of respondents are sure that its use can interfere with the development of skills and independence, and another 19 % believe that it all depends on the approach to its use.

But the main thing that the Siberians note (85 % of the voted) are noted – it is important to instill in children a culture of responsible use of technologies and consider it important that schools explain the rules for safe treatment of artificial intelligence and protect personal data.

“Our survey showed that AI is perceived by society as a practical tool, including in the field of education. He is able to remove part of the routine load from the teachers, help children in their studies and make lessons more exciting. Users expect that along with new opportunities a culture of responsible use of AI will be formed. The development of technology should go in such a way as to bring real benefits and comply with public security requests, ”said Maxim Konovalikhin, VTB senior vice president, head of the data and modeling analysis and modeling analysis.

*VTB All -Russian survey was conducted in August 2025. It was attended by 1.5 thousand respondents aged 18 to 65 years in cities with a population of 100 thousand inhabitants and above.
