In Krasnoyarsk, a man appeared in court for stealing a handbag and cash. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region spoke about this.
At the end of November, the duty department received a statement from a 23-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk. She said that her bag was stolen, which contained gold earrings, a pendant and money. The total material damage amounted to about 56 thousand rubles.
The police found out that the girl was returning home, and since she had a lot of things, she did not notice how the bag fell out of her hands. After some time, the man, seeing a pink bag near the curb on the sidewalk, picked it up and disappeared.
During operational activities, criminal investigation officers identified the suspect and detained him. He turned out to be a 49-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk.
“Having picked up the bag, the man took out 25 thousand rubles and gold jewelry, and threw the bag itself into the nearest trash can. He spent the stolen money on personal needs; during a search at his place of residence, the pendant and earrings were discovered, seized, and returned to the victim,” the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
A criminal case was opened against the attacker on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”.
The Central District Court of Krasnoyarsk found the man guilty and sentenced him to 300 hours of compulsory labor.
The verdict came into force.
