In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a man lost money, calling a taxi for a friend from a dating site.
The police said that they were addressed by a 36-year-old resident of Zelenogorsk with a complaint about theft of savings from the account. He said that on the dating site he talked with a woman for some time. She offered to come to his house, but asked to call her a taxi.
“The woman sent a reference to the boyfriend to the mobile application of the transport service. The victim, introducing data from a bank card, tried to pay for the service, but received a message about the cancellation of the operation. Repeating the attempt, the man failed again. After that, he decided to refuse to meet, deleted the application and spent the evening alone, ”the police said.
However, it soon turned out that money began to be written off from the card. The total damage exceeded 17 thousand rubles.
The police opened a criminal case on this fact under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code “Theft”. An attacker can face up to 6 years in prison.
“The ATS officers recall that you should not follow the links that strangers guide. You can not enter bank cards data on unverified sites and in dubious applications. It is also worth carefully checking the content of SMS messages before the performance of any action.
“Do not trust the unknown – regardless of who they are presented,” the police advise.
