The National Health Fund reminded that the most effective way to prevent posture defects in children is daily prevention, which consists of, among others on limiting a sitting lifestyle, introducing breaks and changes in position during study. Daily physical activity is also very important – at least 60 minutes of movement a day, preferably in the open air. One of the solutions according to the National Health Fund is gymnastic ball, which strengthens the muscles and supports the correct posture.

The ergonomic place to learn and rest is also important: as recommended by the National Health Fund, the chair should enable the height adjustment and support of the lumbar spine; The child's feet must be freely based on the floor.

The National Health Fund recommends that the weight of the backpack and the content should not exceed 10-15 percent. child's body weight. The backpack should have wide, adjustable braces, an additional fastener on the chest and reflective elements to increase the child's safety.

Parents should also ensure the right choice of child's footwear; The shoes should be light, flexible, made of natural materials, with a non -slip sole and matched to the shape of the foot.

Recommendations for school schoolbags were also prepared by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate in consultation with the Ministry of National Education. GIS students are reminded of proper packaging of a school schoolbag – the correct arrangement of objects will allow even distribution of the weight. It also encourages to give up unnecessary things, such as toys or board games. Parents recommend regularly controlling the contents of their children's backpacks, and in the case of the overload – a conversation with the tutor.

GIS teachers recommend care to passing on to students and parents reliable knowledge in the prevention of posture defects, paying attention to the appropriate attitude during the lesson and the correct physical habits of the child. In turn, the directors of educational institutions advise them to provide their pupils with safe and hygienic conditions for learning and take care of the class plan taking into account the principles of health and safety at work.
