According to Domański, the president expresses anxiety with the state of the state budget, and at the same time torpedoes the government undertaken by the government to ensure greater influence.
He assured that The government is prepared for “attempts to destabilize the economy”. He stated that if the President Karol Nawrocki, the Budget Act to the Constitutional Tribunal, the Council of Ministers will use the budget provision, i.e. a temporary solution that may apply for no longer than a year.
– We will work on the project, history knows such cases – noted Domański.
According to the constitution, the president may not veto the budget act, but before signing he may refer it to the Constitutional Tribunal.
The minister also announced that the draft budget act adopted on Thursday by the government will still be verified during parliamentary work in terms of the amount of the budgets of institutions that set them themselves. Domański indicated an example of the Institute of National Remembrance here. – In my opinion, as a deputy, there is a place to reduce – he noted.
He also assessed that “it is difficult to announce the veto to the increase in taxes for banks, and at the same time say that the deficit in Poland is too high. Banks in Poland currently have record profits, so I hope that President Nawrocki will not sabotage the justice of tax increases from the point of justice,” he said on TVP Info.
Domański noticed that the CIT increase assumed by the government from banks has been spread over the years so that the banks “avoid temptation” to overstatement of costs.
– My goal is not to fight the banking sector but elementary justice. If banks have record profits thanks to the very high percentage rates still maintained by the NBP, which make the economy develop more slowly than it could, it is natural that some of these profits go to the budget – he emphasized.
Domański also commented on the president's veto to the Act on the help of citizens of Ukrainian, which, among others It automatically extended the right of residence for Ukrainian citizens, thanks to which they could work legally in Poland. The minister estimated that Nawrocki's decision leads to destabilization of the economy. (PAP)
