Cooperation for energy transformation


Tauron announced that the annex to the BGK loan agreement has increased the available funds to almost PLN 16 billion. The funds resulting from this agreement include, among others PLN 310 million for the digitization of transmission networks. During the solemn signing of contracts, Marta Postuła, Vice President of BGK, emphasized that this cooperation is an important step not only for the energy sector, but also for the entire Polish economy.
The president of Tauron noted that the company plans to allocate up to PLN 60 billion by 2040 for the development and modernization of distribution networks. He added that digitization is a key pillar of this transformation. By 2030, Tauron wants to connect over 1.4 thousand. renewable power of energy sources with a total power exceeding 2 GW, as well as install 260 energy storage. In the near future the company plans to replace 2.3 million meters with customers on the so -called Intelligent Ami meters.
Antiblackout package in autumn
Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski emphasized the importance of KPO for the Polish economy, indicating that the program transforms the national economic landscape. He noted that the expected GDP growth by 3.5 percent. In 2024, he is one of the evidence for the effective use of EU funds that “work for our GDP and economic development”.
According to the Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyk, investments in energy infrastructure are the foundation of state security. He announced that regulations regarding the so -called an antiblackout package that is to be sent to the Sejm this fall. At the same time, he reminded that the modernization of the network is not only technology, but also real benefits for citizens in the form of more stable energy supply and lower bills.
Deputy Minister of State Asset Robert Kropiwnicki, who recognized Tauron as the leader of transformation in the energy sector, spoke equally optimistically. He also emphasized that the company, as the first in Poland, has completed a contract for digitization.
The national reconstruction plan also provides for PLN 70 billion in the Energy Support Fund for preferential loans, which, according to the deputy minister of Krzysztof Bolesta, opens the way to further transformation of the energy sector towards cheaper electricity and a more balanced development model.

EBITDA growth
The growing role of Tauron as one of the biggest players in Polish energy is not without significance. The company boasts of financial results for the first half of this year – EBITDA profit increased by 20 percent. year to year, reaching PLN 4.2 billion, and the EBITDA margin amounted to 24 percent. This is a significant jump compared to 20 percent. in the same period last year.
Signed agreements with BGK are a clear signal that the transformation of the energy sector on a large scale is real. The bank, as an institution supporting the sustainable development of the country, will continue to play a key role in financing strategic initiatives. At the end of 2024, BGK assets amounted to almost PLN 270 billion, which makes it one of the most important pillars of the Polish public banking system.
