How Soundfeed contributed, the Romanian company for licensing and musical distribution, to the realization and launch of the viral phenomenon “Dame a grrr”. The song exceeded 20 million creations only on Tiktok and 50 billion views on all social and streaming platforms

Soundfeed, the B2B musical licensing platform contributed to the explosive success of the song “Dame a grrr”, signed by Ghost and Kate Linn. The song took the first place in Global Trending on Tiktok for almost two months and reached the 4th place in the global Shazam standings, becoming one of the most sought after pieces in the world through the Shazam application.

This summer, the artists have launched a co-product version of the song with Jason Derulo, and other versions with different artists are already planned.

The tip of video creations on Tiktok was over 700,000 in a single day, a remarkable result for a piece distributed by a Romanian company. In just three months, the song “Dame one grrr” generated about 75 million views on YouTube, over 20 million creations on Tiktok and 36 million streams on Spotify.

The collaboration of Soundfeed with Ghost and Kate Linn started in 2024, when the company recommended collaboration with Creator Records, for which it manages the digital distribution, licensing and reporting since 2020. At the launch of the play “Dame a GRRR”, Soundfeed has been in charge of distribution, licensing to Universal Music Romania, the largest branch of the world, and the largest disc. Copyright management through Sony Music Publishing, a global leader in the field of musical publishing.

“All processes, including payments and reports to the rights holders, are managed directly from the Soundfeed platform, based on the information introduced by artists and the record company. Soundfeed is a platform developed in Romania, which offers a complete framework for digital music management. The platform facilitates the connections between artists and record houses, encourages co-production, manages the contracts, licenses the content and makes direct payments to the rights, with transparency and automatic reporting, based on the information configured in the system.

Over time, investments of approximately 1 million euros from Netopia, Essensys Ideas validated locally in an international competitive product, capable of connecting artists, records and publishers from all over the world, ”says Traian Paicu.

From Romania in global trending and international validation

The impact of the song “Dame one grrr” quickly attracted the attention of the international music industry. Due to the play, the collaboration with Jason Derulo came naturally and materialized in a co-produced version of the song. Soundfeed again played an active role, managing the entire flow: negotiations, contracts, distribution and promotion, ensuring an effective coordination with the Universal Music Romania and Creator Records.

In the next period, new international collaborations with Labeli such as Armada Music, Tomorrowland, Soundon (Tiktok), Empire Music, Creative Genius Records and Dopamina Entertainment, along with top artists like Edward Maya, Alexandra Stan, Fantomel, Kate Linn, Kate Linn, Haddaway and Yohani are planned.

They complement a series of projects with discs and artists from Romania, such as MGL, Rava, Olivia Addams, Timebelle, Creator Records, Seek Music, harvested from the neighborhood, Dancefy Records, Mayin Music, Alexandra Stan Records and others. In addition to the success of the song “Dame one grrr”, Soundfeed has distributed over 6,000 albums from 2019 to the present and manages, on average, 34,500 songs, asserting himself as a trusted partner in the global music industry.
