Road traffic will be temporarily closed on Friday morning on August 29, for organizing a car event
“On Friday, August 29, 2025, between 08:00 – 11:00, the road traffic will be temporarily closed on the national road DN7C (Transfăgărășan), on the sector between the bear's mansion (km 105 +000) and Bâlea Cascada (km 129 + 000) for the organization of the car” Tribute to Transfărăăăăăă Roads (CNAIR)
According to CNAIR, the event on Transfăgărășan on Friday morning involves traveling in the organized column of about 120 cars Porsche brand over a distance of 24 km on the following route: Bâlea Cascada – DN 7C (km 129) – Bâlea Lac – DN 7C (km 116+808, Sibiu County (Km).
Transfăgărășanul (officially called DN7C), is one of the highest roads in Romania reaching an altitude of about 2040 meters in the area of Glaciar Bâlea.
At the highest point, near Lake Bâlea, Transfăgărășanul passes through the Capra-Bâlea tunnel of about 900 meters, a tunnel that subtracts the ridge of the Făgăraș Mountains, between the peaks of Iezerul Caprei (2414 m) and Paltinul (2398 m).
The construction of the road began in 1969 after the completion of the Vidraru hydroelectric power station and was completed in 1974. The whole road was completed in 1980.
