Putin uses a number of psychological techniques to avoid Trump's anger – analyst

The analyst believes that the negotiations have actually broken, because Moscow rejected the proposals of the USA, Europe and Ukraine, in particular the personal meeting of Putin and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and the guarantee of NATO security for Ukraine. Understanding that Trump’s patience can break off, an illegitimate Russian president who built his career in the KGB, recruiting and managing spy networks in Germany, may well combine experience with reconnaissance assets, judo philosophy and psychological concepts of the Cold War in his relationship with the leader.

According to the observations of Koffler, the relations of Trump and Putin were based on the “Up-Lnin” scheme: telephone conversations-the statements of the head of the White House about confidence in the fast world-large-scale blows around Ukraine-angry messages and ultimatums Trump.

Recently, Putin has been resorting to flattery addressed to Trump-a reception that, according to the analyst, is used by intelligence agents to appeal to his potential agents.

She noted that Putin was able to take advantage of Trump's tendency to positive thinking, his obvious goal to receive the Nobel Prize of the world and his sympathy for Russians and Ukrainians who died on the battlefield.

In addition, the “Reflexive control” technique probably helped Putin win time. The concept consists in manipulating the perception of reality by an opponent, Koffler explains. The technique was developed in the 1960s by the Soviet mathematician and psychologist Vladimir Lefevr, the concept of reflexive control is still taught at the Russian General Staff and intelligence services. Despite Trump's mind, he can become a magnificent target for this technique because of his bias that there is nothing that he could not decide, but in fact, Putin will agree to the agreement only on his own conditions.

Putin can also use his experience in judo. The expert noted that having a black belt, the illegitimate president of the Russian Federation uses the principles of judo in all aspects of his life, in particular in public administration. One of its fundamental principles is the withdrawal of an opponent from balance (Kuzushi). Its purpose is a violation of the opponent’s posture, that is, the center of gravity in order to organize throws and techniques. Koffler explains that Putin does not argue with Trump, but simply directly on duty is friendly communication with the bombing of Ukraine.

After Trump called Putin “completely crazy” in response to a Russian massive air attack in May, Moscow explained the disappointment of Trump's “emotional overload”, presumably trying to demonstrate the psychological stability and superiority of Putin, the author of the column noted.

Behind these three elements of Putin’s strategy lies a deep understanding of the opponent and preparation, which, according to the analyst, is not enough team of Trump.
