The laminate shines like in a shop window: I use a simple product – I replaced expensive polishes

In order to restore the shine to dull laminate flooring, many housewives have tried a bunch of products. Stores are full of expensive cleaning sprays and concentrates, but the effect lasts exactly 1 day.

But an advice from an old master has appeared on the Internet, thanks to which the laminate will shine as if it had just been laid.

You will need

  • 2 liters of warm water
  • 2 tbsp. vinegar 9%
  • 1 tsp liquid soap or non-abrasive dishwashing detergent
  • 1 tsp glycerin (sold at the pharmacy).
  • If desired, you can add 2-3 drops of lemon or mint essential oil for a fresh scent.

How to use

  1. Vacuum or sweep the floor, paying special attention to corners and baseboards.
  2. Soak a microfiber mop in the solution and wring it out well.
  3. Wipe the laminate in the direction of the grain to avoid streaks.
  4. Let dry naturally and do not wash with clean water after treatment.

Vinegar gently dissolves plaque and residues of old detergents, liquid soap removes grease and dirt, glycerin adds shine and creates invisible protection against dust and static electricity. And essential oil neutralizes odors and gives a feeling of cleanliness.

After treatment, the floor looks fresh, shiny, and dust does not settle on it longer.

Do not use a lot of water, because laminate does not like excess moisture and may swell. Once a month, you can add 1 tablespoon of alcohol to the solution for disinfection and quick drying. Do not use powders or abrasive sponges – they will scratch the surface.

After such cleaning, the laminate will look the same as it did immediately after the renovation. You will get rid of stickiness, streaks or chemical smell. And the effect will last longer than from a store-bought product.
