Four young people between the ages of 20 and 23 died on Saturday after the car in which they were crashed into a rap, in the Portăreasa mountain area in Argeș county, in the Iezer-Păpușa massif. A fifth person, 23 years old, survived and was taken over by a SMURD helicopter, said the Emergency Department (DSU).
The head of DSU, Raed Arafat, said that it is about two girls and two boys who lost their lives. Arafat also told News.ro that they were possibly in an off-road vehicle.
The young people fell 200 meters in the precipice, said in Digi24 the chief Salvamont Argeș, Ion Sanduloiu.
According to DSU, crews from ISU Argeș, the county ambulance service, the helicopter Poa Brașov, Salvamont, the County Police Inspectorate and the County Gendarmes Inspectorate were sent to the indicated place. Due to the rough terrain, rescuers used land vehicles
The car was in a hard-to-reach area, the call to 112 being made by a berries collector, said the chief Salvamont Argeș at Antena 3.
The saved victim was initially suspected of spine trauma, but the preliminary medical evaluation did not confirm this diagnosis. “We hope you have escaped,” said Salvamont Argeș chief.
