Russia has not started the war in Ukraine and “does everything possible to stop it,” said the Kremlin leader at a meeting he had with employees in the nuclear industry in Sarov, according to The Moscow Times.
“There (in the West) propaganda works, of course, people are washed on the brain and they are told that we started the war. And they forget that they started the war, when they started using tanks and aviation against the peaceful population in Donbass. Then the war started, and we do everything possible,” said Putin.
During the working visit to Sarov, he discussed with nuclear physicists and industry specialists about the development of the nuclear sector, international scientific cooperation in the context of the war with Ukraine, as well as negotiations with US President Donald Trump.
During the discussions, he stressed that Russia still receives support from some NATO and EU countries, such as Hungary, but also nominated the relationship with Turkey, another country that is part of the North Atlantic Alliance, according to a transcript of discussions published on the Kremlin website.
