A 24-year-old man was found exhausted and in a state of shock, after being chased by a bear, in a wooded area of Bistrita-Năsăud, reports News.ro.
According to the Gendarmerie, the incident took place on Friday evening.
The gendarmes from the Bistriţa-Năsăud County Gendarmerie Inspectorate were alerted, through 112, by a 24-year-old man who signaled to them that he was being followed by a bear, in the wooded area between Rebrişoara and Coşbuc.
He was traveling in the area on a motorcycle and had taken a break when he noticed the bear.
“In an attempt to get away from the danger, the young man gradually abandoned his belongings, as well as the motorcycle. The gendarmerie crew permanently maintained contact with the young man, who was in a state of panic. The intervention took place in difficult conditions, generated by the rugged terrain and low visibility,” the Gendarmerie said.
The young man was found in a state of shock and physical exhaustion, but without being injured. He was taken by the gendarmes to the place where he could be taken over by a first aid crew and transported to the hospital.
