“They want to continue the war.” The President of Finland warns in the matter of Russia

According to the President of Finland, he is also “unlikely” that in the near future there is a meeting of Russian leader Vladimir Putin with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnski, which was the subject of the last meeting of European leaders and Zelnsen US president Donald Trump in Washington.
“The Russian delay tactics will continue,” said Stubb in an interview, published in the Saturday edition of “Helsingin Sanomat”. “However, we are systematically approaching such a point when it will be possible to achieve a suspension of weapons and a more durable room,” said Stubb. He also noted that the only person who could force Putin into the room is Trump, who has not used hard funds, such as wide sanctions so far to influence the Russian leader.
– The task of such a small country like Finland is to influence the negotiating position of the US president. Sometimes we succeed, and sometimes a little less – said the President of Finland.

Stubb emphasized that for the first time in history Finland sits at the table at which the future of European security is outlined. – However, this is something other than a security and cooperation conference in Europe (KBWE), whose final act was signed in Helsinki in 1975 – noted Stubb.
The role of Finland in peaceful negotiations
When asked about Finland's participation in potential security guarantees for Ukraine, he replied that Finland is involved in the trial, but its participation in these guarantees “will not decide about war or peace.”
The role of Finland in a peaceful process for Ukraine increased after Stubb came to Florida to take part in Trump in a golf tournament. At that time, they began to talk about very good relations between the presidents, and Stubb became part of a small group of European leaders – next to the leader of NATO and the EU, Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy – whom Trump recently invited to the White House for a meeting.
