Valorisation 2026. How will pensions increase? Here's what we know at the moment

How is the valorisation of pensions determined?
Simply put, it looks as follows:
– In June, the negotiations of the government, employers and trade unions regarding the percentage of the share increase in valorisation are held at the Council of Social Dialogue (RDS) (the Act speaks of a minimum of 20 %).
– If there is no agreement, the Council of Ministers sets the amount of participation in the form of a regulation, within 21 days of the completion of negotiations.
– Then the government provides the Sejm and RDS information about the forecast indexation indicator (based on macroeconomic and inflationary data). This is also the moment when work is underway on the draft budget act – it must contain planned valorization.
– By the end of September, the government must submit to the Sejm a draft budget act for the next year in which the valorisation indicator is entered. Within four months, the Sejm and the Senate adopt the budget, and then the president signs it – thus the valorisation indicator becomes part of the legal basis.
– In February, after the Central Statistical Office announced the final macro data (inflation and wage increase), the government issues a message about the final valorisation indicator. This indicator is published in the Polish Monitor.
– On March 1, ZUS (and KRUS) automatically increase all pensions – without submitting applications. The benefits are multiplied by the valorisation indicator.
As you can see from the above list, we are still quite far from the final decisions, although the government has already discovered some cards. The Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers has already adopted a draft regulation. According to him The benefits are to increase by 4.9 percent.
Pensions 2026. What will the increases be?
On this basis, you can already estimate how pensions will change. According to “Fakt” MAn inimal pension, which is currently PLN 1878.91 gross, would increase to PLN 1970.98 gross, which would give almost PLN 84 more on hand.
At 2,000 The gross profit would be nearly PLN 90, and at 3,000 over PLN 116.
On the other hand An average pension, currently of 4,000 PLN gross, would increase by 196 PLN gross, providing real seniors with an additional 155 PLN in the wallet.
At 5,000 gross on hand the pensioner would get over PLN 193.
The thirteenth and fourteenth benefits are planned for 2026.
The draft regulation, in addition to valorisation itself, also assumes a continuation of the payments of the thirteenth and fourteenth pensions, which have become a permanent element of support for seniors. Work on the formal regulation of the valorisation indicator is crucial for next year's budget. They guarantee appropriate funds for increases and additional benefits – emphasizes the family ministry.
