The Russians distributed a fake about the losses of the Armed Forces exceeding the number of the entire Ukrainian army

Earlier, another Russian propaganda Telegram channel Mash announced a successful hacker attack on the General Staff database and announced supposedly the loss of Ukraine since the beginning of a full-scale war unleashed by Russia-aggressor. They announced 1.7 million dead and missing Ukrainian military.

RIA Novosti wrote that she turned to the hackers for a comment and asked if they really have data on the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They seemed to answer: “We confirm, of course.”

The agency assures that the representative of Killnet handed over to reporters “a number of photographs of the dead Ukrainian military, their passports and military IDs, death certificates and tokens.”

On the same day, the Center for Combating Disinformation (CPD) under the National Security and Defense Council (National Security and Defense Council) of Ukraine in Telegram denied the statements of propagandists about the losses of 1.7 million military Armed Forces and explained what the Russians did not take into account this time, spreading another misinformation.

“In fact, this is an absolutely absurd fake, after Ukraine has never had an army of 1.7 million people. As of January 2025, according to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, the number of Ukrainian army was 880 thousand people,” the CPP emphasized. They also recalled Zelensky’s statement that the losses of Russian troops are three times exceeding the losses of Ukrainian soldiers.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of August 20, during the full -scale war of the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation lost 1,072,700 people killed and wounded. The CPD drew attention to the fact that this “levele the fictional figures of the RU propagandists about the losses of Ukraine.”

“The purpose of this fake is to demoralize Ukrainians, to convince the world of“ exhaustion and inefficiency of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ”and weaken its international support,” the CPD summed up.
