The son of the Norwegian Princess Mette-Marit, wife of the successor of the throne, Marius Borg Hoiby on Monday heard penalty allegations for violence against his partners. He is accused, among others Four rapes. His defenders assessed the allegations as “serious”.

The prosecutor announced the indictment of the investigation, which was initiated after the first reports of violence, which Hoiby was to commit to his then partner. When the detention of a man associated with the Royal Dwit was revealed, more women began to report to the police, who claimed that they were hurt by him.
The court will have to consider a total of 32 allegations raised by the prosecutor's office. The most serious are four rapes, which were to take place in 2018, 2023 and twice in 2024. Investigators also gathered evidence of multiple acts of violence, disturbing order, destruction of property and breaking by a 28-year-old of a court ban. He also had to record sexual relations with them without the consent of the partners.

Hoiby's lawyers in a press statement assessed the allegation as serious, at the same time emphasizing that their number does not cause that the case became even more serious. They also assured that their client did not admit to committing key crimes, but he would cooperate and actively participate in the trial to cleanse himself of the charges.
Prosecutor Sturla Henriksboe, who brought an indictment, had a different opinion.

– This matter is very serious. Rape and violence in close relationships are very serious deeds that can leave lasting marks and destroy life, “said Henriksboe at a press conference.
Hoiby is a son from the first relationship of Princess Mette-Marit. He was born a few years earlier before his mother met Prince Haakon. From a marriage with the successor of the Norwegian throne, the duchess has two adult children: Princess Ingrid Aleksandra and Prince Sverry Magnus. Marius Borg Hoiby does not belong to the ruling family.
“It is the courts who have to deal with this case and make a decision. We have nothing more to add” – this is how the royal court referred to the indictment.
Hoeiby is facing up to 10 years in prison for committing the most serious of the accused crimes.
