Tym Typhoon's two fighters (RAF) started on Friday evening from the military base in eastern England to patrol Polish airspace, scare away and defend against air threats from Russia. After completing the task on Saturday morning, RAF aircraft returned safely to Great Britain – the British Ministry of Defense announced in a special communiqué.

Defense Minister John Healey stated that the participation of British aviation in the NATO mission on the eastern flank, declared on September 15 by the UK government immediately after violation of Poland's territory by foreign drones, is “a clear signal that NATO will be defended.”

Kosiniak-Kamysz: NATO should react firmly

NATO should react very firmly and unequivocally to Russia's provocations-said Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Sunday in Podkarpacie. In this way, he commented on the last violation of the airspace of Estonia by Russian fighters.

On Friday morning, three MiG-31 aircraft burst into the space of Estonia on the island of Vaindloo on the Gulf of Finnish (about 90 km to the north-east from Tallinn). They stayed in the Estonian space for about 12 minutes, which allowed them to fly through a significant part of the bay on the Estonian side. They flew only at the height of the island of Hiuma in the Baltic Sea, the second largest island in the country.

Some politicians, including President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, was in favor of NATO to react firmly to violating the airspace of NATO countries by Russia “Including the possible shooting down of Russian machines.”

At a press conference before the Provincial Congress of PSL, the head of the People's People referred to this incident. He pointed out that in recent years, the airspace of Estonia has been violated by Russian aircraft about 40 times.

– This last case is very brutal, because it lasted 12 minutes. Shows how Russia accelerates, as it provokes from all sides – he added.

Kosiniak-Kamysz reminded that Russian machines have also recently flew over the drilling platform belonging to Orlen, and the Russian shadow fleet interrupts the cables that are located at the bottom of the Baltic.

These provocations will last and must be represented. You also need to build the strength and resistance of society so as not to disinfect, because here again there is an attempt to disinformation, because Russia does not confirm this type of actions – said the politician.

The deputy prime minister emphasized that “the provocative nature of Russia's actions intensifies.”

In this context, the head of the Ministry of National Defense reminded that NATO launched the Eastern Sentry (Eastern Sentry), which would protect the eastern provinces of Poland, including Podkarpackie. He mentioned that allied troops were involved in securing the country, including from France, Germany, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

– Danes, Swedes come, of course the United States or the British are of course – he added.

The Reuters agency reminds that Great Britain has undertaken by April 2027 to increase defense expenditure to 2.6 percent. GDP, which is to be a signal for US President Donald Trump that London may make a significant contribution to strengthen Europe's security.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced last Friday that the Alliance launches the Eastern Guard's mission to strengthen the eastern flank. The mission is attended by, among others Danish F-16, French Rafale and German Eurofightery. (PAP)
