Downing Street's statement was issued after the virtual meeting of representatives of over 30 countries focused in the so -called Coalitions willing, allies of Ukraine. Prime Minister Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron co -hosted them. The event was attended by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
During the meeting, Starmer presented information about Monday talks in Washington, in which he took part with the US President Donald Trump, the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelnski and leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Finland, as well as the heads of the European Union and NATO.

The British prime minister, reporting the course of events in the White House, stated that “the real sense of unity and the common goal, which is to ensure fair and lasting peace for Ukraine, was clearly felt.”
He announced that “Planning teams of the Coalitions willing will meet in the coming days with their American counterparts to further strengthen the plans to ensure solid security guarantees and prepare for the distribution of security forces in the event of the end of hostilities” in Ukraine.
According to Downing Street, the leaders belonging to the coalition also touched on the topic of exerting further pressure on Russian leader Vladimir Putin, including using sanctions, until he “does not show that he is ready to take decisive actions to end his illegal invasion” to Ukraine.
