Rent, paid to a representative organization of the business environment

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania is an organization that represents the business environment and has county branches, being run by the businessman Mihai Daraban.

In February this year, the company Global Defense Logistics in which Mihai Daraban is a 10 % shareholder was charged by DNA prosecutors for bribery to the representatives of the NATO base in Kogălniceanu. His brother, Gabriel Daraban, is the company manager and also holds 10 % within the company.

The company representatives would have promised a NATO base official the amount of $ 200,000 to obtain a contract worth over 9,000,000 euros for the fuel supply of ships, a DNA from February 2025 shows. Of this money, 130,000 euros would have been given.
