The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelnski will come to Brussels on Sunday afternoon to participate in the teleconference of countries creating the so -called Coalition of volunteers – the head of the European Commission informed.
She herself is to go to Washington on Monday, where Zelanski will meet with US President Donald Trump.
“At the request of President Zelanski, I will join the president of the president (US Donald) Trump and other European leaders in the White House tomorrow,” wrote von der Leyen on Platform X.
The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz – as confirmed by his spokesperson, will also join President Zelanski. Zelanski, Merz and von der Leyen will come to the US capital three days after Trump's Friday conversations with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
According to media reports to Washington, French President Emmanuel Macron, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson and Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Melons are also to fly.

The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski announced that on Monday, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, he would visit Washington, where he would talk about initiatives to end the war with Russia.
Zełueski gave the news about a visit to the United States on Saturday, after a telephone conversation with Trump and teleconferences with European leaders about the meeting of Trump with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, organized on Friday at Alaska.
“We support the proposal of President Trump regarding the Tripartted Ukraine-American-Russia meeting. Ukraine emphasizes: all key issues can be discussed at leaders level and the triangular format is appropriate in this case,” wrote Zelnski in the Telegram messenger.
“I intend to discuss all the details about stopping the murders and the end of the war with President Trump on Monday in Washington. I am grateful for the invitation” – added the Ukrainian president.
