Wołodymyr Zelnski was to reject Vladimir Putin's proposal, presented by Donald Trump at a meeting with European countries leaders, says Reuters. It was about Putin's demands regarding the seizure of Donbass and freezing the front in the southern circuits of Ukraine.
Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin met on Friday in Alaska, where they talked almost three hours about the war in Ukraine and the future of this country. Then on Saturday, the US President talked online with European leaders about the meeting with the President of Russia.
Trump during a conversation with politicians from Europe, among whom was also Wołodymyr Zelnski, to say that Vladimir Putin is still demanding withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk and Lugansk Districts, said the Bloomberg agency. Similar information was provided by the “Financial Times”, adding that Putin offered the fron to freeze in two other places in exchange for giving him Donbass. “The New York Times” reported that Trump was to say that he was supporting Putin's plan.
– You need to understand what Donbass is. This is Donetsk, Lugansk, Dnipropietrowsk and Zaporozhye. These are the most industrialized areas, rich in ore and other minerals. There, the industry has always been very developed. He is also strategic from the point of view of the defense of Ukraine. He is very strengthened – explains General Mieczysław Bieniek in an interview with Onet.
The adviser to the Minister of National Defense for security also explains Putin's plan.
– He wants to get Donbas at the lowest cost. I remind you that he set this condition a few years ago. Donbas already cost Putin almost a million killed and wounded Russians. He knows perfectly well that he will not get it so easily for the next year. It is actually impossible on the battlefield – he notes.
– By the way, he makes further demands. For example, that Ukraine is to be a neutral state, i.e. it cannot enter any international structures, e.g. NATO or the EU. According to Putin, Ukraine is to be demilitarized and devasted, although it is not known what it means. He will probably also care about not American soldiers near Ukraine – he calculates.

A military expert is sure that Zelanski cannot agree to Putin's terms.
– Zelanski is right that he cannot agree to donate Donbass, because it will be a good starting position for Putin for the next attack on Ukraine. This is a very well militarized area. Donating him would mean a weakening of Ukrainian positions, both politically and militarily.
– There is such an old military saying that the borders of the Russian state are where the shoe of the last Russian soldier ends. In the case of Ukraine, this is happening before our eyes – there is no doubt.
General Bieniek is convinced that Ukraine is not in the best negotiating situation today.

– When it comes to suspension of weapons in Ukraine, we are now in a breakthrough place. Perhaps after tomorrow's meeting in Washington, there will be another meeting of Putin, Trump and Zelanski. Then many things should be explained – announces General Bieniek.
