Analysts indicate that Brent oil prices persist in the area of 66 USD/BBL, about USD 1 below the level ago.
Investors' attention is focused on the US -Russia Friday meeting regarding the potential suspension of weapons in Ukraine. On the market, it is speculated that a possible agreement could lead to sanction to Russian oil, increasing its supply. In this scenario, oil prices would be under downward pressure.
Meanwhile, American oil reserves increased in the week ended on August 8 by 3.04 million barrels to 426.7 million barrels – the American energy administration (EIA) said. This is the highest level from the beginning of June, although still 4.9% lower than the average of the last five years for this period. (PAP Biznes)
