“Two fighters of the armed Russian Federation made a low flight within the Petrobaltic mining platform,” informs the Border Guard.
“The services responsible for the security of Poland are constantly monitoring the situation within the maritime critical infrastructure also outside the territorial waters of the Republic of Poland” – we read in the published entry.
The incident occurred on Friday in the afternoon. Spokeswoman for the commander of the Maritime Border Guard Department Katarzyna Przybysz announced that My fighters flew within the mining platform belonging to Orlen Petrobaltic, violating the safety zone.
– It was in the area of the exclusive economic zone. We have been (…) informed to enhance vigilance and respond to any other offenses that would affect the violation of the borders of the state. It did not happen, so we did not have to react – she explained.
Orlen Petrobaltic is, as we read on the company's website, Polish mining enterprise dealing with the search and operation of oil and gas deposits on the Polish Baltic Sea shelf and comprehensive offshore logistics service, sea tests and fleet management.
The company's licenses for the search and recognition of oil and natural gas deposits include two areas with a total area of 2296 km km. They lie in the eastern part of the maritime territory of the Republic of Poland.
