Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will approach their summit that will take place in Alaska on Friday not only the Ukraine war, but also world -interest economic issues, among other topics, Hungarian Prime Minister Vikor Orban, quoted by Reuters and MTI, said on Tuesday.

In an interview with a youtube channel called “Patriota”, Orban stressed that a question that is being asked is if the current conflicts will result in a unified world economy, together with a cooperation system based on a new balance, or a worldwide economy.

The Hungarian prime minister believes that the world “is not too tolerant” to the present situation, in which the US and Europe “rooted themselves in a war while all the other problems in the world have remained in a secondary plan”, and President Trump is trying to change this situation and solve, one by one, the problems.

The war between Russia and Ukraine is important, but other issues as or even more important will be discussed by Trump and Putin at the Alaska summit, according to the Hungarian Conservative Prime Minister, who had a telephone conversation with his American counterpart, with whom he shares the same ideological orientation, notes Agerpres.

“Russia won this war”

“We are talking now as if it were an endless war situation, but it is not. The Ukrainians lost the war. Russia won this war,” Orban said.

“The only question is when and under what circumstances the West, which is behind the Ukrainians, will recognize this and what will result from all these,” believes the head of the Budapest government.

He also believes that Europe has missed the opportunity to directly negotiate Putin during the administration of former US president Joe Biden and now risks how Putin and Trump decide his future without even being present at the negotiation table.

Arrows to European leaders supporting Kiev

“If you are not at the negotiation table, you are in the menu,” said Orban, the only European leader who did not sign the common statement, on Tuesday, EU countries, a statement that supports Ukraine's position before the Trump-Putin summit.

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, this statement makes the European Union seem “ridiculous and pathetic.”

The European leaders have requested in that statement that any “significant” negotiations regarding Ukraine will be carried out only after Russia accepts a “cessation of fire or a decrease in hostilities.”

In the same text, described by Viktor Orban as an attempt to impose “a number of conditions for a meeting where EU leaders have not even been invited”, Ukraine's direct involvement in negotiations are required and it is emphasized that the borders “cannot be changed by force”, after Trump has suggested the idea of an exchange of territories for a Russian-Ukrainian agreement.
