Spokesman for the government about Bąkiewicz: either he is a useful idiot or a foreign agent

Government spokesman Adam Szłapka estimated that if someone, like Robert Bąkiewicz, conducts a disinformation action, it acts consciously or unconsciously in the interest of the Kremlin. According to him, someone can be a “conscious agent or useful idiot.” Both options are disqualifying in public life – he added.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Gorzów Wielkopolski is investigating the incident at the Słubice Border Bridge of June 29, where uniformed insults were to serve on the Polish-elected border. On Monday, supervising the Gorzów unit of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin decided that the national community activist Robert Bąkiewicz should hear the allegation in this case.

On Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Mariola Wojciechowska-Grześkowiak, announced that the decision regarding Bąkiewicz's accusation of insulting the officers of the Border Guard and the Military Police is expected on Wednesday.

On Tuesday morning, in Polsat News, Szłapka assessed that Bąkiewicz “consciously or not, he fits into the Kremlin narrative, that is, there are two possibilities: either a useful idiot or a foreign agent”.

During the afternoon press conference on Tuesday, Szłapka was asked if calling Bąkiewicz's “Kremlin agent” is justified to know if they are insinuations. The spokesperson explained that if

– It is obvious that this is a action in the interest of the Kremlin. If someone acts in the interest of the Kremlin, there are two options: either it does it consciously or unconsciously – he emphasized. He added that both options are “disqualifying for such a person in public life.”

– In other words, someone can be either a conscious agent or a useful idiot. There are no other possibilities. Nobody here insinuates anything, and simply puts dichotomy – he concluded.

When asked about possible allegations for Bąkiewicz, Szłapka said that he would not speak for the prosecutor's office. He added that – to his knowledge – the prosecutor's office intends to challenge Bąkiewicz to insulting officers.

As he assessed, the evidence on Bąkiewicz is “a lot and there are other provisions in the Penal Code, for example claiming to be a officer, which is also punishable.” – I think that in this respect the prosecutor's office should probably conduct proceedings, but the prosecutor's office will take these activities autonomously – he added.

The insulting of an officer is punishable by a fine, restriction of liberty or deprivation of liberty for up to two years.

Bąkiewicz appeared on the Polish-German border as part of the so-called civic patrols; He appointed the so -called Border defense movement.
