In several Polish cities, taxi order can be much more difficult today than usual. Uber and Bolt drivers strike there. The reason is too high a commission downloaded from drivers by the application, which means that their earnings have recently decreased significantly.
In many towns, including In the Tri -City, Warsaw and Poznań, on April 14, Uber and Bolt drivers decided to start a strike. The reason is too low wages they receive for their work. According to them, corporations take them up to 50 percent. earnings, which drastically reduces their income.
Urgent changes needed in both platforms?
In the petition, which is already signed by nearly a thousand people, taxi drivers express their dissatisfaction with the current conditions of cooperation. They pay attention to the need to introduce urgent changes in the functioning of the platform.
– Our goal is to improve working conditions and ensure mutual respect and fair treatment – wrote the driver of Uber and Bolt in their petition.
Among the demands that the protesters put out were:
- The minimum net amount for the driver for each course – even the shortest one – should be PLN 12.
- Regardless of the application commission, the driver should receive a minimum of PLN 3 for each kilometer traveled.
- Cost for 1 km at night: in the city +25 percent, outside the city +50 percent
Increasing living and work conditions
As a justification for their demands, the drivers gave, among others A significant deterioration in the economic situation in Poland.
“Life costs have increased dramatically – prices of basic food, fuel, car parts, insurance and service services are rising at a dizzying pace. For drivers who spend many hours behind the wheel every day, these changes mean a real deterioration of living and working conditions. The rates offered to drivers do not keep up with this height,” wrote the drivers.

According to protesters, more and more are expected from them – punctuality, personal culture, caring for vehicle and passenger safety, but without adequate remuneration.
