According to ZTM spokesman Tomasz Kuner, new vehicles will improve the safety of residents of the capital. Kunert emphasized that buses will be adapted to a quick change in their functions, enabling the transport of people on stretches or couches. The maximum number of such equipment in one vehicle will be four – the equipment is to be stored and issued if necessary.
Strategy element
“These buses will not only serve the daily needs of passengers, but also provide sudden support,” says Kunert. He also explained that their adaptation to transport the wounded requires minimal effort, and if the tools are necessary, they will be available.
New vehicles will be powered by diesel. As ZTM explains, this type of drive works best during crises, when access to other energy raw materials can be difficult and vehicles must operate on longer routes and in unfavorable conditions.
The investment is part of a larger strategy related to the construction of a universal civil protection and civil defense system in the capital. ZTM intends to raise funds from the Government Program for the Protection of Population and Civil Defense for 2025-2026. After purchasing, the vehicles will be transferred for operation by Miejskie Bus Zakłady.
Warsaw focuses on safety and functionality. However, when the tender ends and when the capital actually gain versatile vehicles, they will show the coming months.
