Specialists from Krasnoyarsk Rospotrebnadzor advised what to look for when purchasing and how to properly store adjika.

Classic adjika is an aromatic and spicy mixture of ground red or green chili peppers, garlic, salt and spices. Adjika is also made with tomatoes, tomato paste, bell peppers, walnuts, marjoram, thyme, cumin, saffron, basil and dill.

The color of this seasoning depends on the composition of the product, but it should not be too bright. The texture of adjika is dense, and the consistency is not always uniform. The taste and aroma depend on the additional ingredients and spices used in the recipe.

When buying adjika, it is better to choose one that is sold in glass containers. Because through the glass you can see the color and consistency of the product. The seasoning is stored in plastic packaging for less time.

Adjika should be stored in accordance with the requirements specified by the manufacturer on the packaging, observing the expiration dates. At home, after opening, the jar must be stored in the refrigerator.
