The rejection of the confederation's financial statements for last year is a consequence of the PKW previously rejected by the PKW – in March this year – the financial statements of the Confederation Electoral Committee for elections to the EP in 2024.

PKW indicated in March the report that the committee in violation of the provisions of the Electoral Code accepted property benefits worth about PLN 47,000. The questioned amount covered, among others Adoption of illegal non -monetary property benefits worth about 28 thousand. PLN, as well as PLN 64 for the purchase of alcohol (the purpose of this purchase was, according to the financial representative of the confederation, “meeting with the contractor and people from conducting campaigns”).

Among the irregularities of the PKW also indicated, among others Payment of the amount of surplus remaining on the account of the election committee not to the election fund account, but to the private account of the financial representative of the election committee. The PKW also argued that the representative of the election committee did not send the financial statements on time. A complaint against that March decision of the Supreme Court is waiting for consideration in the Supreme Court.

In relation to the Confederation of the PKW, she also rejected her financial information about the subsidy received and expenses incurred in 2024. As indicated, it is for breaking the provisions, according to which the subsidy is to be allocated to the party's statutory activities. Meanwhile, the confederation from the party subsidy financed not only the event from August 2024, at which her politician Sławomir Mentzen announced the start in the presidential election in 2025, but also Purchase of a thousand election hats with the inscription “Mentzen 2025” worth over 17,000 zloty.

The rejection of the annual party's report, which charges the subsidy, means the loss of the right to it for three years. In the case of a political party that does not receive subsidies from the state budget, the rejection of the financial statement has no effect.

At the Monday meeting, the National Electoral Commission took the reports for 2024 of the party: Nowa Left, Nowoczesna and PSL without reservations. The reports of the Civic Platform, Law and Justice, Poland 2050 Szymon Hołownia, Green and Polish initiative were accepted with the deficiencies. The Commission also dealt with financial reports on local government elections in 2024, adopting the Citizens' Coalition and Third Road Coalition Committee reports without reservation, and rejecting several reports of smaller committees.

The PKW did not make any binding decision on the application of the Minister of the Interior and Administration to dismiss over 40 election commissioners who actively supported the election of judges for the so -called Neo-KRS and took part in the nomination procedure. Justifying this conclusion, the head of MS Waldemar Żurek argued that these judges “do not give warranty of the proper act of the election commissioner” and there is serious doubt whether they fulfill the criterion of apoliticality.

The head of PKW Sylwester Marciniak pointed out, among others, that the provisions do not provide for the possibility of submitting a request by any minister to dismiss the commissioners, and their work should only be assessed and including the perspective of electoral law.

During the meeting, a proposal appeared to verify the work of all election commissioners – also those appointed recently – but “not under the pressure of politicians.” The case is to return at the next PKW meeting, which is scheduled for October 13. As Marciniak told journalists, the Commission had already planned to make such an assessment, but was waiting for the end of the “election cycle”. (PAP)
