During a conversation with journalists in the oval office, Trump pointed out that any suggestions related to the reduction of NATO forces in the region leaves later considerations. He added, however, that he considers the upcoming talks with the Russian President to be an important step on the road to the room. “I think that President Putin will make a room. “If the meeting is bad, b. It will end quickly”
Trump spared no words about his role in stopping Russian aggression. He stated that if it wasn't for his presidency, Moscow would take all Ukraine. He described Friday's conversations with Putin as a preparatory stage before the next peak in which Zelnski would participate. He even suggested that both meetings could take place in Alaska, which would simplify logistic challenges.
The US president also expressed the belief that quickly assess the atmosphere and potential effectiveness of the Friday meeting. “In the first few minutes I will know if it will be good or bad. If it is bad, it will end very quickly. A good meeting will end with reaching peace in the near future,” Trump emphasized. He admitted, however, that the end of the war in Ukraine turned out to be a much greater challenge for him than he originally thought.
The hopes for the peaceful conversations that the US president associated with Putin, however, point to cautious optimism. However, the key will not be the declarations themselves, but the specific diplomatic movements and the reactions of both Ukraine and Russia.
