The new university taxes, the stricter regulations and the increasingly restrictive policy towards immigrants have deeply changed how the Romanian communities perceive the United Kingdom.

The subject was discussed on Tuesday, September 23, at the third edition of the debate “Born in the diaspora”, Organized by stiridiaspora.ro, where the guests analyzed the effects of Brexit on the Romanians in the Kingdom.

Ștefan Teodor Vișinescu, vice-president of communication of the Romanian Student League (LSRS), established in London, explained how the new regulations affected the Romanians, starting with the students.

“First of allUK has become unattractive students through the very high taxes they have at the moment. We went to international taxes, because the European Union is now seen as 'International'.

This made the number of Romanian students in the United Kingdom drastically drastically. Automatically drastically dropped the number of new faces we know. For example, the LSRS has gone through a hemorrhage of volunteers ”, he said.

According to him, the communities established for a long time feel the effects of British policies. “The Politics in the UK, at least the last 2-3 reforms, as they affected us as communities. Why? Because it is clear that the United Kingdom has become saturated with everything that means immigrants, and automatically puts us in that category.”
