The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, said on Tuesday that he was “deeply indignant” of information on electric school minibuses bought at a very high price of local authorities from PNRR, adding that he will notify the European Prosecutor's Office if necessary.

The reaction of Pâslaru, who arrived in the government as an independent proposed by the Liberals, comes after reporteris.ro wrote on Monday that a Prahova company with PNL has won over 50% of the delivery contracts at national level, International Figure in SEAP with at least 35 contracts worth over 135 million.

Pîslaru: “I will request immediate clarifications to the authorities involved”

Pîslaru said on Tuesday that “we cannot talk about the modernization of Romania and investments for the future of our children if the European money is used incorrectly or even stolen”, adding that “he has read deeply the information in the press” about this case.

He said in a Facebook post that he will send his control body to check how bus purchases were made.

“I will request immediate clarifications to the authorities involved, and if irregularities will be found, they will be followed by financial corrections and, where appropriate, the notification of the European Prosecutor's Office led by Laura Codruța Kövesi, the independent body responsible for the investigation, criminal prosecution and the trial of the authors of the offenses against the EU budget,” Pîslaru added.

“I will not tolerate any abuse,” the Minister of Investments and European projects said.
