New head of the Ministry of Justice: I'm not afraid of Zbigniew Ziobra

I am not afraid of Zbigniew Ziobra, but I am afraid of Poland's loss of sovereignty and democracy. This, however, does not paralyze me. The crisis only mobilizes me – said the head of MS, prosecutor general in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza. He also stated that he agreed with the theory of the so -called fighting democracy.

The Minister of Justice – when asked in the Monday issue of Gazeta Wyborcza for cooperation with Karol Nawrocki – declared that he would respect the constitutional role of the president. – And if the prime minister gives me permission and the president will invite me in matters of the rule of law, of course I will not refuse and go. These will be talks for arguments – he noted.

Żurek was also asked whether he thinks that it is real to restore the rule of law without statutory changes. – I think so. I agree with the theory of the so -called fighting democracy. It was loud about her. Blind sticking to the lowest rank acts that concrete the system is an action against the law – answered the minister.

He said that his favorite example is the situation of the patient who suffered a fracture of his hand – as in the case of violations of the rule of law – but no one set her because he was afraid of questions about the perpetrator. The hand grew in the wrong way and the patient lost its possession. In such a situation, as he explained, the orthopedist says directly: you have to break it again and fold it correctly.

– Because we all suffer from a few people who wanted to have a political justice system. Belarusian de facto – there is also a toga, there is also a courtroom, in her cages for political opponents – said Żurek, adding that this would be the next stage.

In an interview with “GW”, the new Minister of Justice also referred to the National Court Register operating in the current shape, which he assessed as an unconstitutional institution, announcing that as the Minister of Justice he would “enter” to her meeting – perhaps it was planned at the end of August. He also referred to the status of the so -called Neosędzi, paying attention to the need to reform in the Supreme Court.

– Neo -SN are not judges in the Supreme Court, we should call them disgrace. We already have the case -law of the European Tribunals. (…) We must have a legal Supreme Court, because the Supreme Court neo -SN generate compensation already in millions and Poland threatens serious legal consequences if we do not change it. So with this court I will be relentless, ”Żurek announced.

The minister also assessed that the prosecutor's office requires changes, including in the scope of deputies of the PiS prosecutor, which cannot be dismissed without the President's consent. When asked about their removal from positions, he assessed that this was possible from a legal point of view. – If I make a decision and have a precise justification, I will definitely communicate it – he added.
