Borussia welcomes Bayern Munich from 19:30 at the legendary “Westfalenstadion” in Dortmund in a match of the 24th round of the Bundesliga.

'Der Klassiker', one of the biggest rivalries in German football, comes as the Bavarians lead the table with an eight-point lead over the 'yellow and black'.

Dortmund, meanwhile, are in second place with just one defeat all season and will be looking to close the gap on the leaders, a win would mean a gap of just five points.

The last head-to-head, played in October 2025 in Munich, ended in a 2-1 victory for Bayern, but the Bavarians had been unsuccessful in the previous three derbies.

The match at the “Westfalenstadion” could decide the fate of the championship title.

We are all looking forward to this match, both the players and the staff. We want to offer a different performance than the one with Atalanta, from Bergamo. We will have to cover a lot of ground, Bayern always have a lot of possession, so we will have to give ourselves a bit of time, keep the ball as much as we can. We must be brave. The more open the match, the better chance we have to win in front of our fans.

– Niko Kovac, coach of Borussia Dortmund

This is “Der Klassiker”. It has its own meaning and we have to make it as big as possible. I think it's good. It is important for the Bundesliga that we have a top game, neither team should be afraid. We want to beat Dortmund. And Borussia should think similarly, that's what makes him so important.

Knocking Borussia out of the Champions League was a setback for them. You never know how they will react to it. Psychically, it always has an effect, it can develop in any way. What we can control is how we start the match. We had a very good week, we did everything right in training and we want to continue like that in the match.
