Condition for continuing financial aid
The European Union also welcomed this “crucial reform” aiming at “facilitating the accession process” of Ukraine, through the voice of the European Commissioner for Extension Marta Kos.
Beb was created in 2021 to fight the shadow economy and tax evasion, but was accused of extorting funds.
The EU and the International Monetary Fund, Ukraine's essential economic partners in front of the Russian invasion, designated the Beb reform as one of the conditions for continuing financial aid.
Tested with the lie detector
Oleksandr Țivinski, reputed for leading several resounding investigations, won this contest at the end of June, but the government had refused to appoint it until the last minute, evoking its family ties with Russia.
