Three people were injured, Thursday evening, in a road accident occurring at the exit from Sibiu municipality towards Agnita. Two vehicles were involved in the incident. One of the victims is a young pregnant woman who suffered abdominal trauma, informs News.ro.
“Policemen from the Sibiu Road Bureau intervened in an accident on DJ 106 at the exit from Sibiu to Daia, in which two cars were involved. From the first investigations carried out on the spot, it emerged that, while driving a car on DJ106 in the Sibiu-Agnita direction, a 31-year-old man from Vâlcea County, for reasons to be determined, allegedly lost control of the direction of travel and entered the collision with a car, driven from the opposite direction, by a 44-year-old man from Sibiu”, reported the Sibiu Police on Thursday evening.
The 31-year-old driver and his passenger, a 54-year-old man from Vâlcea, fled the scene.
“The two men were identified in the Dealul Dăii area by a gendarme in his free time, with the support of a traffic participant and brought to the scene of the road accident. The 31-year-old driver was tested for breathalyzer, resulting in a value of 0.90 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. He was taken to the hospital in order to collect biological samples to determine the blood alcohol level,” the quoted source added.
Following the collision, the 44-year-old driver and the two passengers, a woman and a man, suffered bodily injuries and were transported to the hospital for medical care.
Ambulance doctors specify that the victims are a 29-year-old man with lower limb trauma, as well as a 19-year-old pregnant woman with abdominal trauma.
The police opened a criminal case for culpable bodily harm, driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of the accident.
