A fallen fish from the sky, escaped from the claws of a kidnapping bird and reached an electric cable, caused a vegetation fire last week and a short current in the west of Canada, writes AFP on Wednesday.
The story, hard to believe, was made public by firefighters from the British Colombia province and delights the Canadian press, notes Agerpres.
The incident took place last Thursday, July 30, near Ashcroft, when firefighters were called to intervene at a fire that broke out in nature.
“A rapid investigation allowed to identify the cause of this fire: a fish. Yes, you read well: a fish to which something incredible happened!”, Ashcroft's firefighter service said on the Facebook page.
According to firefighters, a fisherman's eagle, a species of rapturous bird, would have caught the prey from a river about three kilometers away, but would have escaped it, just above an electrical line.
The contact of the fish with the electric wires would have caused a spark and a few incandescent particles that fell on the ground, lighting the dry vegetation.
There is another hypothesis, speculated in humor firefighters: the kidnapper “tired of the raw fish and wanted to try the fish.”
Their photos really show the dead fish on the ground, with the burnt housing.
The fisherman's eagle escaped unharmed and continued his flight, continued to joke the firefighters.
In a more serious tone, they said they were pleased that the lack of wind last week allowed the rapid extinction of this unique fire in western Canada, a region frequently affected the summer of forest fires.
