In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, police officers came across illegal forest cutting (video)

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, police came up with an illegal scheme for cutting down the forest and fell under the investigation. This was reported in the prosecutor's office of the region.

According to the supervisory authority, in October 2020, in the Kazachinsky district, two police officers – the operative of the local department and his colleague, the operative officer for particularly important cases from the department of economic crimes – decided that they would illegally cut the forest.

The law enforcement officers received from local residents contracts of the sale of wood, which they concluded with the KGBU “Kazachin Forestry” for completely legal purposes-construction, heating or conducting a subsidiary farm. These documents gave the appearance of the legality of their activities.

“The group acted planned for two months: it chose forest areas, organized cutting down and further implementation of wood. During this time, they managed to illegally cut down 1 thousand cubic meters of wood, causing the state damage worth more than 11.3 million rubles, ”the prosecutor said.

A criminal case of illegal cutting of the forest was opened against accomplices (part 3 of article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Contrary to the position of the prosecutor, who insisted on detention of the operative of the local police department, the court chose a house arrest for him for 2 months. The prosecutor's office prepared an appeal submission for a court decision on the election of a preventive measure.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported that during the investigation of the police officer was removed from the performance of official duties. When confirmed by guilt, the defendant will be dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on negative grounds and will be punished in the manner prescribed by law.

In relation to his accomplice, another criminal case of receiving a bribe is already being investigated, in which he had previously elected a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions.
