A laser sword used by the character Darth Vader in the original films “Star Wars” was exhibited in London before a tender in which she has a chance to be awarded for several million dollars, writes DPA/PA Media.
The laser sword, used in the epic battles of “The Empire Strikes Back” (1980) and “Return of the Jedi” (1983) could be sold for $ 3 million, according to estimates.
The sword will be put up for sale in a tender that will include over a thousand props and suits used in movies, whose total value is estimated at $ 10 million, notes Agerpres.
Among the most important articles for auction are the Spider-Man costume worn by Tobey Maguire in the homonymous 2002 superhero film and the costume worn by Michael Keaton in “Batman”, 1989.
Also, a shield of the character Captain America used by actor Chris Evans will be auctioned in the movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015), the mask of Ryan Reynolds from “Deadpool” (2016), a suit worn by actress Jane Fonda in the feature film “Barbarella” (1968) and a bic. From the movie “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” (1989), with Harrison Ford.
Several objects of props in the “Harry Potter” series will also be auctioned, including the sign on the 9th 3/4, which could be sold for up to $ 40,000, and Daniel Radcliffe's wand from “Prisoner of Azkaban”.
The “Shark teeth” clamp, used in the casting of the movie “Jaws” (1975) by Steven Spielberg, from whose launch it is 50 years old, will also be auctioned, its value being estimated at 40,000 – 80,000 dollars.
The laser sword in “Star Wars” was exhibited on Wednesday at a private exhibition in London, before the propstore auction in Los Angeles, the US, which will take place between 4 and 6 September.
