On Wednesday, Karol Nawrocki took an oath before the National Assembly and gave the first message, starting his five -year presidential term.

The president announced an objection to the introduction of the euro in Poland. Piotr Kuczyński from the Xelion investment home, commenting on the president's declaration, assessed that “no one will introduce Poland to the euro area at the moment.” – There are several different reasons; The basic one is that we are not able to change the constitution; It says that the only issuer of the Polish currency is the National Bank of Poland. We will not change it, because you need 307 votes in the Sejm (2/3 of MPs – PAP) – said Kuczyński.

– And no one intends to introduce the euro, because first of all we will not change the constitution, and secondly The Polish economy is not ready for it at the moment – he emphasized.

Nawrocki announced that he was against increasing the retirement age

In Kuczyński's opinion, no one intends to raise the retirement age, unless “he would like to commit political suicide.” At the same time, he noted that the number of working pensioners increased by 50 percent. compared to last year.

During the message, the president also announced that in August he would convene a meeting of the cabinet council. He explained that he would want to talk to the government about investments and about the state of public finances. – The president said during applying for the presidency that he would often call office councils; If he does it very often, e.g. once a week, instead of ministers, deputy ministers or lower people will come and then the president's desire to convene these advice will quickly disappear – the analyst pointed out.

– Although a conversation on state finances from both sides is very sensible because the president wants to submit bills that would significantly hit the state finances, therefore consultation on the government -President's line is justified and hopefully something sensible of these consultations will result – added the expert.

CPK will return in the PiS issue?

Nawrocki also announced that on Thursday he would submit a legislative initiative “that we would return to the traditional shape of the central communication port.”

– The president wants to show that he is for this version of the Law and Justice government, but this bill will go to the Sejm “freezer” anyway and will not be implemented – believes Kuczyński.

NBP President Adam Glapiński explained in June that in his opinion Poland's adoption by Poland “would now pose significant risks for maintaining economic balance and the further process of convergence of the Polish economy.” Glapiński has often emphasized that Poland should not give up the zloty.
