“Lewis is very talented and, most likely, this has not changed,” Bernie explained for The Daily Mail, quoted by Sportal.bg.

“But, like many great sports stars, once they reach the peak, there is only one direction: down. I get tired. And Lewis is tired. He competed all his life. He needs a long break, a complete restart, to dedicate himself to other things.

He may not think so, but soon he will get used to doing other things outside the races. And I think he should have already done that.

Lewis is honest, but he will lie alone if he continues. Must stop. If I were the one who manages his interests, I would immediately go to Ferrari and say to them: “If you have to replace Lewis, he will retire.” And if I were in Lewis's place, I would ask Ferrari to pay me all the money in the contract and I would leave.

Ferrari took Lewis because they thought it could be at the level. But it does not work, and this decision would help both parties. I don't want anything wrong with Lewis. But he does not fight for the title and is at that stage of life in which he does not deserve to spend two years in bed with the broken spine or something as serious, ”Bernie Ecclestone said, according to the quoted source.
