The CPK company has already received the project of the airport and railway station from Master Architect; Documentation is currently being prepared for submitting applications for building permits to the Masovian Voivode – the company said on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Government Plenipotentiary for CPK Maciej Lasek informed PAP that the project is ready and the company plans to submit applications this year.

The CPK company in Wednesday's announcement pointed out that the receipt of building documentation to the building permit was possible after issuing positive opinions by the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service. She reminded that at the beginning of June the project and documentation regarding the bus station were also received.

According to the company, the project assumes that the area of the CPK passenger terminal will be about 450 thousand. sq m. in the first stage of implementation. The main building of the terminal will be connected to the pirs, which passengers will reach aircraft. Passenger service will take place on three levels. At zero level there will be bus outputs for Schengen and Non-Schengen, luggage collection hall and arrivals. At the first level, Non-Schengen arrivals and departures, transfer centers and passport control will be located. The second level will be check-in check-in, safety control, arrivals and Schengen departure and part of the Non-Schengen arrival zone.

11,000 passengers per hour and 34 million per year

The project predicts that in the first stage of the airport implementation CPK will be able to handle up to approx. 11 thousand. passengers per hour. Nearly 140 check-in check-in stations will be available, with a spatial reserve for the installation of subsequent ones (up to 170 positions in total). In the first phase, the terminal is to be adapted to support 34, and in the second 44 million passengers. The main terminal hall will be built in a larger volume, taking into account the future expansion.

The CPK company assumes that part of the equipment will be able to be moved from the modernized Chopin Airport in the future, which will reduce the costs of purchasing equipment. The communiqué also indicates that the expected target share of transfer passengers who will change to other aircraft at the CPK airport is 35-40 percent.

According to the project, In the first phase, 26 contact stations will be available (i.e. equipped with air sleeves) For narrow -body aircraft and 23 wide -body stands, 18 of which will allow two narrow -body aircraft to be set up in place of one wide -body. Initially, a total of 49-67 machines can be operated in contact stands.

CPK reminded that in the first stage a North Pirs will be built for long-distance flights to the re-schengen and central pirs serving both Schengen and Non-Schengen flights. The construction of the southern pirs is planned in the next stage and will depend on the results of traffic forecasts. The creation of north-east and south-east pirs will be implemented subsequent stages of the airport expansion.

Work on the belt is already underway

Project documentation is currently being prepared, including starting roads, taxi, parking plates and parts of Okolotniskowy roads as part of the work of the General CPK CPK designer and project documentation for the so -called facilities supporting the airport. It comes, among others for administration buildings, maintenance base, buildings for meteorological service, control of environmental threats, fire brigades and air traffic control tower.

The CPK company reminded that the Master Architect team was responsible for preparing the project, consisting of a consortium of British design offices chosen in the tender: Foster + Partners and Buro Happold and over 30 other subcontracting companies from various industries, including ZACO, Kuriłowicz & Associates and Cundall. In total, more than four hundred designers took part in the work on documentation.

The Location decision for the CPK airport was issued by the Mazovian voivode in January this year. In May, CPK, in turn, announced the procedure in a competitive dialogue procedure for the selection of the general contractor of the airport passenger terminal, and in July offers were opened in proceedings for the luggage service. As indicated in the announcement, by the end of 2025, the CPK intends to announce tenders for a total amount of about PLN 30 billion.

As part of the CPK program, among others, Central airport, located between Warsaw and Łódź, and high speed rail system. The new airport is to be adapted initially to service 34 million passengers per year and designed in such a way that in the long term it can be flexibly expanded, in accordance with the needs and forecasts of market development.

According to the adopted schedule, the construction of the CPK airport in the communes of Baranów, Wiskity and Teresin is to start in 2026. In 2031, the airport is to obtain the necessary certifications, and in 2032, it is to be commissioned with the first episode of KDP in Poland: Warsaw – CPK – Łódź. The estimated investment cost by 2032 is PLN 131.7 billion. (PAP)
