Last Wednesday, Carney declared that Canada intends to recognize the Palestinian state in September this year, during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, making a similar decision as France and Great Britain. Among the conditions is to leave Hamas outside the process of developing the principles of the Palestinian state, conducting key reforms, as well as the organization of elections in 2026 and the abandonment of the creation of Palestine armed forces.
Kanada has been allocated since 2023 by over 355 million Canadian dollars to help the Gaza Strip.
